Dove Mountain Fire Emergency Preparedness

There were four wildfires in the Tortolita Mountains this summer. The Tortolita, Westridge, Dove and Edwin Fires were contained quickly but did burn a total of 4,700 acres. The Dove Fire was the closest--about 4 miles from the roundabout.
I know this has many concerned so I reached out to Councilperson-Elect Jackie Craig about Dove Mountain fire preparedness. She was able to discuss this with Northwest Fire District (NWFD) and received the attached letter, which will hopefully provide some comfort. I am hoping a more formal fire emergency plan is developed in the near future with input from the community.
