Jill Kismet Joins TA Board

Jill Kismet is an Arizona native - or at least she considers herself one! She had the privilege of growing up in Prescott and attended both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University (earning a Bachelor’s in Conservation Biology). During that time, Jill was part of a team that identified breeding pairs of a nearly extinct water shrew in Arizona’s White Mountains. This experience hooked Jill on ecological research-particularly global change issues-and she got a PhD in her 20‘s at the University of Maryland.

Jill has also owned a couple of ventures in medicine and financial planning and lived in 6 other states. But now Jill is back to her Arizona roots and resides locally in Sky Ranch. Besides living within a preserve, Jill chose the Tangerine Road corridor for its unique micro-zone of desert plants and wildlife. It’s a special place that is rapidly disappearing by short-sighted and rampant development. Her goal with joining Tortolita Alliance is to assist with promoting better land stewardship.
