Night Blooming Wild Cereus Plant Ready To Bloom In Tortolita Preserve

One of the plant species identified in the Fall Tortolita Preserve (TP) Bioblitz was the Night Blooming Wild Cereus Plant aka Queen of The Night.

Dave DeGroot has confirmed that this plant has a bud and should bloom one night in the next few weeks.

It is located about one-half mile north of the Moore Trailhead between the Candelabra Saguaro and Palo Verde Tunnel. There are four light colored stones pointing west toward the plant. It is about 30 feet from the trail protected by a yellow palo verde branch.

Take a short hike in the TP some night in the next few weeks and maybe you will be one of the lucky campers to see the Night Blooming Wild Cereus Plant in full bloom!

Please be safe and take care not to disturb this rare plant. Send photos if you do pick the correct night.
