On Wednesday (9/30/20-6:30PM) the Marana Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a rezoning application from DR Horton for a 30-acre parcel located along Tortolita Road just west of the Highlands (see Tortolita 30 on Dove Mountain Development Map above). The hearing will be held at the Marana Council Chambers, 11555 W. Civic Center Drive, Marana, Arizona 85653. You can also attend on-line (see Agenda link below for more details).
DR Horton proposes to rezone the parcel from the current R-144 (144,000 sq. ft. lot) to R-8 (8,000 sq. ft. lot) and construct 82 homes. See Land Use Concept Map (left). TA has analyzed the Site Analysis and Traffic Study and finds the proposed rezoning problematic as there are serious wildlife habitat/connectivity and traffic issues.
TA has worked with residents and TA members in the area and submitted a Comment Letter requesting the rezoning be rejected.
