TA Tidbits #37- Ridgeline Revival & More

Recovery From 2020 Wildfire-Ridgeline Trail

Ridgeline Revival

TA Members Joe Thomas and Kit Nidever hiked the Ridgeline Trail on April 5 and Joe reported, "We last hiked the Ridgeline in May 2021 so it has been nearly a year. Kit and I were surprised to see how much the vegetation has recovered. Grass everywhere (from last summer's monsoon). It seems that most of of the burnt yuccas survived (some blackened ones had new greenery, some were sprouting from the roots of destroyed plants). Likewise the ocotillos and saguaros. The wildflowers up on the Ridgeline were the best we've seen this year in the Tortillita Mountains."

Mother nature is amazing! All of Joe's photos from this hike are available at the photo collage below.

First Saguaro Bloom-Tortolita Preserve

My first sighting of Saguaro flowers taken yesterday in the TP.

Snake Season

This photo was taken on April 9 by Tara Macari in the TP. The snakes are back so time to be alert.
