Highlands Lifelong Learning Group Tours Tortolita Preserve With Dave Barker (TA Board Member-back left)
Tortolita Alliance (TA) is fulfilling its strategic communication and environmental education goals with several events:
Highlands Lifelong Learning Group (2/28/24)
The Highlands Lifelong Learning group toured the eastern panhandle of the Tortolita Preserve (TP). Â Board member Dave Barker led the group, and touched upon the history of TP, the creation of TA, and some basic info on the local plants and animals. Â Some of the group walked the upper one mile loop from the Highlands gate access, and a few hardy souls enjoyed a three mile loop including the cutoff trail bench. Tentative plans were made to host this group at a later date, likely starting from the new Moore Trailhead.
Dove Mountain Civic Group Community Resource Fair
3/20/24-5:30-7:30 PM-Highlands Ballroom
TA will have a booth along with 15 other local agencies and groups. TA Board members will be available to provide information about TA and TP.
Dove Mountain Rotary Club
4/11/24-5:00 PM-Highlands-Catalina II Meeting Room
Mark Johnson (TA President) will provide presentation on the origins of TA and current status of the TA Strategic Plan.
8/1/24-10:30 AM-Cochise College, Sierra Vista, AZ
Mark Johnson will provide presentation entitled "The Tortolita Alliance & Conserving The Tortolita Preserve".
